Dr. Daniel E. Kim is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Yale School of Medicine in the Division of General Surgery, Trauma, and Surgical Critical Care. He specializes in trauma, burn resuscitation, surgical critical care, and emergency/elective general surgery. A U.S. Army veteran, he served 20 years of active duty, including four tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria, and retired as a Colonel. His clinical interests include trauma care, burns, and surgical infections, while his research focuses on resuscitation strategies, soft tissue infections, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Dr. Kim earned his MD from Uniformed Services University and completed residencies/fellowships at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Weill Cornell, and the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research. He also holds an MPH from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health.
