Dr. Daniel Dumas is a researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (IfL) since March 2025, specializing in historical geographies, Indigenous geographies, and urban studies. He holds a PhD in Geography from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (2018–2025) and advanced degrees from the University of Ottawa in Geography and Indigenous Studies (MA 2014–2017, BA 2009–2014).
His research explores:

- Urban Indigenous identities
- Visual and cartographic representations
- Colonial legacies in spatial practices
