Peter Wittmann is a Researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (IfL) in Leipzig since 2004. Previously, he served as a Lecturer at the University of Heidelberg (2003–2004) and was actively involved in public relations for the German Geographical Society (2001–2009). His academic journey includes a doctorate in Geography from the University of Stuttgart (1999), complemented by studies in German and Art History (1983–1986).
His research focuses on regional geography, historical geographies, migration patterns, and geovisualization.
