Dr. Daniel DeLaurentis serves as Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University and Vice President for Discovery Park District (DPD) Institutes, leading interdisciplinary initiatives to address national challenges. He concurrently holds the position of Chief Scientist for the U.S. Department of Defense Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC) and Senior Research Fellow at Purdue's Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy.
His research pioneers system-of-systems (SoS) engineering methodologies, focusing on modeling and simulation, dependency analysis, complexity assessment, optimization, and control for aerospace applications. Current work emphasizes hypersonic vehicle systems, supersonic fleets, and urban Advanced Aerial Mobility solutions, bridging technological innovation with diplomatic strategy.
Dr. DeLaurentis' distinguished recognitions include:

As director of the Center for Integrated Systems in Aerospace (CISA), he mentors students while leading cross-institutional defense research through SERC's 25-university network, translating military requirements into cutting-edge academic projects.
