Daniel Crimmins

Daniel Crimmins, PhD, is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences and Department of Epidemiology at Georgia State University's School of Public Health. He serves as Director of the Center for Leadership in Disability, a Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. His work focuses on advancing supports for individuals with disabilities through research, policy, and evidence-based practices.

Dr. Crimmins holds degrees from Binghamton University: BA (Psychology), MA (Psychology), and PhD (Psychology). He completed a clinical psychology internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and was a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow (2002-2003), working on health and education policy in Senator Jim Jeffords' office.

His research emphasizes functional behavior assessment, inclusive education systems, and scalable interventions. Notable contributions include the Motivation Assessment Scale and BBQuIPS system. He advocates for respectful person-centered supports and opposes restrictive procedures.

Current initiatives include expanding inclusive postsecondary education programs in Georgia and improving workforce training for disability support systems.
