Daniel Cañas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Wake Forest University, where he has been a faculty member since 1987. Prior to this, he served as a faculty member at the University of Kansas from 1984 to 1987 and as founder and Director of the Computer Center at the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica (ITCR) from 1976 to 1980, contributing to the establishment of its Computer Science Department.

Research Interests:
Daniel Cañas focuses on enhancing software tools for computer science education and exploring processes and threads in Linux systems. His work bridges educational methodologies with operating system fundamentals, emphasizing practical training in Unix environments and C programming.
