Daniel Boćkowski

Dr. hab. Daniel Boćkowski serves as Professor at the University of Białystok within the Faculty of International Relations. His academic work focuses on the intersection of security policy, international relations, and contemporary geopolitical challenges, particularly in Eastern Europe and the MENA region.

Boćkowski's research interests span a wide spectrum of security-related topics including social cybersecurity, disinformation and information warfare, various forms of terrorism (political, religious, and media-based), internal security frameworks, religious fundamentalism, and the geopolitical dynamics of Middle Eastern and North African countries. His work also examines how societies confront asymmetric security threats and investigates historical aspects of Polish experiences during World War II, particularly regarding the Polish population in the USSR and the Soviet occupation of eastern territories of the Second Polish Republic.

His recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on contemporary security challenges, with particular attention to information warfare tactics employed by state actors, radicalization processes in digital spaces, and the evolving nature of terrorist threats in domestic contexts. Boćkowski has contributed significantly to understanding Poland's security landscape through analyses of domestic terrorism and societal responses to diaspora communities.

Boćkowski has served as editor for several academic publications including 'Disinformation – Inspiration – Society. Social Cybersecurity' (2022) and 'Security and its perception in social and military discourse' (2020), demonstrating his leadership in advancing scholarly discourse in his field.
