Daniel Boone was a Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona from 1973 to 1999. Prior, he held roles as Assistant Professor at Western Reserve University (1960-1963), Associate Professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center (1963-1966), and Professor at the University of Denver (1966-1973). He is now Emeritus & Retired Faculty.

- MA in Speech Pathology, Western Reserve University (1954)
- PhD in Speech Pathology, Western Reserve University (1958)
Boone specialized in neurogenic disorders (e.g., aphasia, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis) and voice disorders. His landmark work The Voice and Voice Therapy shaped clinical practice, and his book Trouble Talking offered personal narratives of patient cases. His research emphasized interdisciplinary approaches to communication disorders.
