Daniel Belavy

Prof. Dr. Daniel Belavy is a Professor in the Physiotherapy Department at the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Therapy Sciences, Hochschule Bochum (University of Applied Sciences Bochum). He specializes in musculoskeletal health with a focus on evidence synthesis, particularly in intervertebral disc health and chronic low back pain. His career includes a PhD in Rehabilitation Science (2007), a Humboldt Foundation post-doctoral fellowship (2007-2009), and roles as Associate Professor at Deakin University (2014-2021) and Honorary Full Professor (2021-2024). He completed his habilitation in 2021 at Cologne's German Sports University.
