Dr. Daniel Baselt is a researcher at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Heinrich Heine University Duesseldorf, specializing in Computer Networks. He joined Prof. Mauve's research group in December 2008 as a Ph.D. student and researcher, following a M.Sc. in Computer Science from Heinrich Heine University Duesseldorf with majors in communication systems and operating systems. His master's thesis on "An Analyzer for State-Based Random Traffic" was co-supervised by the chair of computer networks and communication systems at Heinrich Heine University and Ericsson Eurolab, Aachen.

Baselt's research focuses on vehicular communication systems, including Car-2-X networks, beaconing protocols, and microscopic traffic behavior. He has contributed to teaching laboratory courses in computer networks (2009-2013) and exercise courses in Computer Science II (2009-2010).
He is responsible for the Computer Networks Secretariat at Heinrich Heine University and participated in the "Next Generation Car-2-X Communication" project. His academic activities include reviewing for the IEEE Vehicular Networking Conference.
