Daniel Allen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences at Olivet Nazarene University, where he has taught since 2021. His work bridges sociology with interdisciplinary themes in digital technology, religion, and social justice.

Dr. Allen’s research focuses on college athletics, the American judicial selection process, digital media’s impact on relationships, and religion in collegiate contexts. He has contributed to applied sociology through community health assessments and initiatives addressing poverty and educational disparities.
A dedicated educator, he teaches courses such as Introduction to Sociology, Sociology of the Family, and Research Methods, integrating global perspectives from his experiences across Europe, Asia, and North America. He is a member of the American Sociological Association and the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion.
In his personal life, Dr. Allen enjoys outdoor activities, board games, and exploring ice cream flavors with his wife Laura and their two children, Kaya and Levi.
