Daniel Adrover Roig

Daniel Adrover Roig is a Full Professor in the Department of Applied Pedagogy and Educational Psychology at the Faculty of Education, University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), where he has been a faculty member since 2011. He leads the Development, Education and Language (I+DEL) research group and holds leadership roles including Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Education and Coordinator of Admission Tests for Early Childhood and Primary Education degrees.

His research focuses on the cognitive effects of bilingualism, developmental language disorders (DLD), executive control, and bullying in children and adolescents. He investigates how bilingualism influences attentional resources and cognitive resilience in children with language difficulties, healthy adults, and older adults. In recent years, his work has expanded to include cyberbullying, supported by a 2022 La Caixa Foundation Flash Call grant.

The most recent publications reflect a strong emphasis on language development, DLD, bilingualism, and bullying. Themes include moral decision-making in bilinguals, statistical learning in dyslexia, inclusive education practices, and methodological innovations in bullying assessment. His work integrates developmental, educational, and neuropsychological perspectives.

Daniel Adrover Roig has directed multiple doctoral theses and served as principal investigator on two consecutive projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation. He has published around 45 JCR-indexed articles and over 25 books and book chapters. He actively transfers knowledge through teacher training, public outreach, and policy guidelines. He is also involved in several institutional committees including the Research Ethics Committee and the Institute for Research and Innovation in Educational Research (IRIE).

He leads the I+DELab research laboratory, an interdisciplinary team focused on psychological development, educational challenges, and language. The group promotes multidisciplinary research and collaborates with schools, hospitals, and public institutions to implement evidence-based practices.
