Dana Toloman

Dr. Dana Toloman serves as an Established Researcher (R3) and Deputy Head of the Materials, Energy and Advanced Technologies Department at the National Institute for Research and Development of Isotopic and Molecular Technologies (INCDTIM) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Education:

• MSc in Science of Oxide Materials (2002) - Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca
• PhD in Physics (2010) - Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca

Her research expertise spans nanomaterials science with emphasis on electron spin resonance applications, photocatalytic systems for water depollution, magnetic semiconductor nanoparticles, and thin film deposition technologies. She investigates the relationship between material structure and functional properties, particularly regarding reactive oxygen species in photocatalytic processes and antibacterial activity. Her current projects include 'Nanostructured hybrid architectures with tunable magneto-luminescent properties' and 'Photoactive ultrafiltration membranes for water decontamination,' reflecting her commitment to developing innovative environmental solutions through advanced materials science.

Dr. Toloman leads the 'Nanocomposite Materials with Adjustable Properties' research team and has coordinated multiple national research initiatives spanning from 2003 to present. Her work demonstrates significant contributions to Romania's integration into European research networks and addresses global challenges through nanotechnology applications in environmental protection and potential biomedical fields.
