Dana Lawrence

Dana Lawrence is an Associate Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Physics at Hood College, where he has been a faculty member since 2005. He teaches General Chemistry, Biochemistry, and specialized courses in the chemistry program. Professor Lawrence serves as the primary advisor for all biochemistry majors and conducts summer research with undergraduate students.

• B.A. in Biology and Chemistry, Jacksonville University (1994)

Research Focus: His laboratory investigates structural biology through expression and purification of zinc-finger proteins, aiming to elucidate their molecular architecture and biological functions using biochemical techniques.

Student Mentorship: Actively mentors undergraduate researchers in summer projects focused on protein biochemistry and structural analysis, while providing comprehensive academic guidance to biochemistry majors throughout their degree programs.
