Dana Goldman

Dana Goldman holds the Leonard D. Schaeffer Chair as a Distinguished Professor of Pharmacy, Public Policy, and Economics at the University of Southern California, directing the Schaeffer Center for Health Policy & Economics—a cornerstone of USC's nationally ranked health policy program. He serves as a health policy advisor to the Congressional Budget Office, Covered California, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Institute, and major healthcare companies.

His educational background includes a B.A. summa cum laude from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University.

Goldman's research spans Health Policy, Health Economics, and Pharmacoeconomics, with deep expertise in aging, cancer outcomes, and health inequality. His work integrates economic analysis with clinical outcomes to address systemic healthcare challenges, particularly in Medicare and elderly populations.

Recent publications like his Medicare-cancer outcomes study exemplify his focus on evidence-based policy interventions that bridge insurance coverage gaps and improve health equity.
