Dr. Dana Ariel is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader of the MA Photography program at the University of Portsmouth’s Faculty of Creative & Cultural Industries, within the School of Architecture, Art and Design. She holds a PhD from University College London's Slade School of Fine Art (2018), focusing on Sites of Unlearning: Encountering Perforated Ground. Her work bridges artistic practice with socio-political inquiry, addressing conflict, memory, and environmental change through photography, printmaking, and multimedia.
Education:
- PhD (2018): Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, London (awarded by London Arts & Humanities Partnership)
- Pre-doctoral work: Engagements with Palestinian-Israeli landscapes and postcolonial theory
