Dan Levin is a Professor at The Ohio State University, affiliated with the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the Department of Economics. He joined OSU in 1995 after a full professorship at the University of Houston.
Education:
- B.A. in Economics from Tel Aviv University, Israel (Magna cum Laude, 1974)
- Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1982)
His research focuses on Auctions, Industrial Organization, and Behavioral Economics, with over 55 peer-reviewed publications, including studies on the Winner's Curse, information processing in auctions, and behavioral biases under ambiguity.
Recent publications include experimental analyses of decision-making under ambiguity (2024), misbehavior in common value auctions (2023), and level-k reasoning in auction theory (2022). These works span keywords such as Game Theory, Behavioral Biases, and Bayesian Updating.
