Dr. Dan Jensen is the founding Professor of Engineering at Westmont College, where he established their engineering program. Previously, he served as a Professor of Engineering Mechanics at the U.S. Air Force Academy for 21 years before retiring. He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Currently, he is a Scholar in Residence at the University of Colorado Denver and a Fellow at the International Design Center, the world's largest design research center with hubs at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and MIT. He also runs an engineering consulting firm specializing in training for engineering design.
His research focuses on innovation in product/systems design, prototyping methodologies, and design impact assessment. He has trained hundreds of design teams, overseen dozens of patents, and published over 135 peer-reviewed papers. Jensen has secured $4 million in grants and consulting funding. He frequently teaches courses in 'Innovation in Product/Systems Design' at SUTD/MIT Academy and other institutions.

His recent publications emphasize digital vs. physical prototyping tradeoffs, UAV landing systems, and measuring design impact across disciplines. He received the prestigious 'Fellow' designation at the International Design Center.
