Professor Dan Danielsen is a Professor of Law and Faculty Director of the Program on the Corporation, Law and Global Society at Northeastern University School of Law. He holds a JD from Harvard Law School (1989) and a BA from UCLA (1984). His research focuses on the role of business firms in global governance, corporate accountability, and supply chain capitalism. He previously served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Europe Online Networks SA and a partner at Foley Hoag LLP. His work explores legal frameworks for harnessing corporate power to enhance social welfare, particularly in developing economies. Active in interdisciplinary collaborations, he leads initiatives like the Social Labor Convergence Program and the New Conversations Project. His academic roles include Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (2014–2017) and Faculty Director of LLM and International Programs (2011–2015).
His research interests span global value chains, political economy, and international law. Notable publications include works on corporate power dynamics, global governance, and legal approaches to supply chain accountability. Danielsen has advised international organizations, governments, and unions on labor rights, corporate strategy, and global regulatory frameworks.
Professional affiliations include the Thai Institute for Justice and the Institute for Global Law and Policy. His work bridges law, economics, and policy to address inequality and sustainable development. He has lectured globally and participated in workshops on topics ranging from trade law to human rights in global supply chains.
