Dan C Williamson

Dan C Williamson is a Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at San José State University (SJSU), affiliated with the College of Humanities and the Arts. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of California, Riverside (1996), an MA in Philosophy from SJSU (1989), and a BA in Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Cruz (1971).

His research interests are eclectic, encompassing Continental Philosophy (particularly Foucault, Heidegger, and Kierkegaard), ethics, American political theory, social theory, and ancient religious cultures. He also maintains a lifelong passion for music (guitar, piano, harp) and photography.

Williamson has taught at SJSU since 1996, initially as an adjunct, and currently instructs courses such as 'The American Dream.' His academic journey includes early studies in journalism and a career interlude in Silicon Valley before committing to philosophy.
