Dan Baldock

Dr. Dan Baldock is a Lecturer in Biology & Forensic Biology at the University of Chester, part of the Faculty of Science, Business and Enterprise. With expertise in biochemistry and microbiology, he bridges academic, industrial, and further education backgrounds. His research focuses on water toxicity analysis, microbial contamination, photoreactive antimicrobial compounds, novel agrochemicals, and forensic toxicology. He leads forensic-focused modules in analytical chemistry/biochemistry and actively collaborates with external organizations. Current projects include a PhD study on hydrogen peroxide disinfection in vertical farming systems. Baldock holds a PhD in antimicrobial mechanisms from the University of Leeds and certifications in health and safety and higher education teaching. As Careers Link Tutor, he strengthens student career pathways through industry partnerships.
