Dr. Damon Linker is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania, affiliated with the School of Arts & Sciences. He joined Penn in 2023 after teaching in the Critical Writing Program since 2007. Linker is a Senior Fellow at the Niskanen Center’s Open Society Project and a contributor to The Bulwark podcast Beg to Differ. His research focuses on modern conservatism, the Republican Party, the religious right, and global right-wing populism. He has authored two influential books: The Theocons and The Religious Test, examining the intersection of religion and politics in American governance.
Educated at Michigan State University (Ph.D. in Political Science), Linker has held fellowships from the Alexander von Humboldt and Earhart Foundations.
