Damián Refojo

Damián Refojo is a Medical Doctor and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires. He currently serves as the Director of IBioBA – CONICET – MPSP and leads a research group in Molecular Neurobiology. He is also an International Max Planck Fellow and former head of the Max Planck Junior Group in Munich.

• Education: Medical Doctor (UBA), Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (UBA, 2005), Postdoctoral training at Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry (2006–2008).
• Affiliations: Director at IBioBA, affiliated with Helmholtz Zentrum München, and collaborator at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry.

His research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration, RNA biology, and stress response pathways. Key topics include circular RNA functions, synaptic plasticity, and neuroendocrine signaling.

Publications span advanced topics like CRH signaling, RNA circularity, and neurodegenerative genetics, reflecting interdisciplinary approaches in molecular neuroscience and genetics.
