Dr. Damiano Poletti is a researcher in the Department of Mathematics (DIMA) at the University of Genoa, specializing in Probability and Mathematical Statistics. He teaches Probability and Statistics for Naval Engineering and Mathematics programs, including courses like Probabilistic Methods for Shipbuilding and Stochastic Analysis, as well as Operator Algebras for Mathematics students.
His research focuses on Gaussian quantum Markov semigroups, decoherence-free subalgebras, and irreducibility in quantum dynamics. Recent work explores the Kossakowski matrix's role in strict positivity of quantum dynamics and characterizations of Gaussian Markovian systems.
Publications highlight trends in quantum probability, stochastic modeling, and operator algebras. Collaborators include Franco Fagnola and Julián Agredo. Contact: damiano.poletti@unige.it. Office hours details are available at the start of each course.
