Dr Damiano Benvegnu is a Reader in Italian Studies and Comparative Literature at the School of Modern Languages, University of St Andrews. He holds prior affiliations with Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia, and his work bridges disciplines such as critical theory, digital humanities, and environmental humanities.
- Doctorate in Italian Studies (philosophy of language, minority languages) from La Sapienza University, Rome
- Doctorate in Comparative Literature from the University of Notre Dame
- Associate Fellow, Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics
His research focuses on ecocritical theory, digital storytelling, and posthumanist philosophy, with notable projects on:
