Damian White is a Professor of Social Theory and Environmental Sociology at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where he served as Head of the History, Philosophy and the Social Sciences department (2012–16) and Dean of Liberal Arts (2017–22). He holds degrees from Keele University (BA), Birbeck College (MS), and the University of Essex (PhD). His work bridges political sociology, environmental studies, and design theory, focusing on post-carbon transitions, urban ecologies, and the intersections of labor, ecology, and futurism.
