Damian Sobota is a researcher at the Kurt Gödel Research Center for Mathematical Logic, part of the University of Vienna's Faculty of Mathematics. He holds a PhD from the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences under Prof. Piotr Koszmider. His work focuses on applications of infinitary combinatorics and forcing to measure theory, Banach space theory, and functional analysis.
His research projects include collaborations on topics like measures in the random model, projections in C(K)-spaces, and the separable quotient problem for C_p(X)-spaces. Recent publications explore Grothendieck properties of Boolean algebras, complemented subspaces in Banach spaces, and convergence of measures in forcing extensions. Awards include the Wacław Marszałek Award for his PhD thesis and recognition in the Józef Marcinkiewicz Student Paper Contest.
- Awards: Wacław Marszałek Award, Summa Cum Laude honors, Polish academic scholarships
- Key contributions: Forcing techniques in measure theory, Banach space structure analysis
