Damian Gallagher

Dr Damian Gallagher is a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at the Department of Global Business and Enterprise, Ulster University (Derry~Londonderry campus). He holds editorial roles on journals like the European Journal of Marketing and International Journal of Sports Marketing & Sponsorship, and chairs the Academy of Marketing Sports & Events Marketing Special Interest Group. His research focuses on small business marketing strategies, sports club management, and research methodologies.

He completed a Fulbright Scholarship at the University of South Carolina (2013-14), investigating minor league sports marketing. His professional affiliations include the Northern Ireland Sports Forum and ad-hoc reviewing for multiple journals. Teaching interests span entrepreneurship, marketing, and research methods.

Recent work explores social media’s role in small sports clubs, tailgating revenue models, and Gaelic Athletic Association strategic direction. His interdisciplinary approach bridges marketing theory with practical applications in SMEs and sports organizations.
