Dalton D. Baldwin serves as Professor of Urology at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where he directs clinical research in endourology and minimally invasive surgery. His academic journey began with a BS from Pacific Union College (1987) followed by MD from Loma Linda University (1991).
Dr. Baldwin's research spans urolithiasis management, radiation safety, and renal transplantation. Key focus areas include:
- AI-enhanced stone imaging optimization
- Laser lithotripsy innovation (thulium vs. holmium)
- Radiation reduction techniques (DARRT protocol)
- PCNL outcomes in special populations
- Transplantation surgical refinements
Current funding includes an Olympus Corporation grant ($450K) for SOLTIVE™ laser evaluation and 10 internal LLU projects (2024-2026). He mentors 8 residents through hands-on project leadership, with trainees regularly presenting at national meetings.
As Director of the T.O.W.E.R. Research Consortium, Dr. Baldwin coordinates global endourology studies across 32 international sites. His lab focuses on immediate clinical translation, with innovations like the radiation-reducing DARRT technique now implemented in 17 US institutions.
