Dr. Dalia Malek serves as a Research Fellow at Bournemouth University within the Department of Humanities and Law, contributing to the UKRI-funded Mass Grave Protection, Investigation, and Engagement (MaGPIE) project. Her research focuses on mass graves linked to migration and human trafficking.
Her academic credentials include:

- Master's in International Human Rights Law from the American University in Cairo
- Graduate Diploma in Forced Migration and Refugee Studies from the American University in Cairo
Specializing in Refugee Law and International Human Rights Law, Dr. Malek's work addresses forced migration, citizenship law, and climate justice in displacement contexts. Her research bridges legal theory with field applications in human trafficking and extraterritorial refugee protection.
Recent publications demonstrate consistent focus on African contexts, analyzing citizenship frameworks in Egypt, climate-induced displacement mechanisms, and systemic failures in refugee protection against refoulement.
