Daina Stanley is a **Part-Time Professor** in the Department of Social Work at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Social Sciences. She holds a postdoctoral fellowship at McMaster University's School of Social Work. Her research focuses on medical anthropology, incarceration and health, and end-of-life care in penal systems.

**Research**: Explores experiences of illness and mortality among incarcerated individuals, with a focus on prison hospice care, compassionate release, and re-entry challenges for older justice-involved persons. Current projects involve participatory research with the Maine Hospice Council and the National Institutes of Health-funded Aging Research in Criminal Justice Health (ARCH) initiative.
**Teaching**: Courses include Advanced Research Seminar in Social Work, Psychological Anthropology, and Sociology of Health.
**Grants & Collaborations**: Her work is supported by NIH ARCH R24, focusing on improving health services for aging populations transitioning from incarceration. Collaborations include the Maine Hospice Council and Centre for End of Life Care.
