Daina Pastare is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the Latvian Academy of Sciences. Her primary affiliation is with the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, where she also serves as a Study Process Coordinator. She holds a clinical medicine expertise qualification from the Latvian Academy of Sciences (2025).
Her research focuses on multiple sclerosis (MS) biomarkers, neurodegenerative processes, and functional impairment assessment. Key areas include exploring lipopolysaccharide-binding protein dynamics in MS progression, anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis in MS patients, and neurofilament light chain levels as cognitive impairment markers. She collaborates on projects involving translational medicine and biomedicine, with a focus on personalized therapy development.
