Dr. Daima Bukini is a Fogarty African Bioethics Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics. Her research focuses on the ethics of Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) care in Africa, particularly examining Ethical, Legal, and Sociocultural Issues (ELSI) in newborn screening programs. She is also a senior researcher in the Sickle Cell Program at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) in Tanzania.
