Dagan Jenkins is an Associate Professor in the Genetics & Genomic Medicine department at the UCL Institute of Child Health, University College London. His research focuses on skeletal ciliopathies, ciliary trafficking mechanisms, and neural crest cell biology.
- 2025 - present: Subject Leader (Biology), BSc/MSci Child Health
- 2022 - present: Head of Cilia Disorders Section
- 2019 - present: Associate Professor in Skeletal Genetics
- 2018 - 2024: Director of the EMMAC Project (Wellcome-funded)
Education:
- PhD in Molecular Medicine (2005)
- BSc in Genetics (2002)
Research Interests center on understanding how ciliary dysfunction contributes to skeletal and developmental disorders. His lab uses tandem-affinity purification (TAP), SILAC proteomics, and CRISPR-based screens to identify novel ciliary trafficking proteins and potential therapeutic compounds.
Scientific Awards include a Wellcome Trust Collaborative Award (2018-2023), MRC New Investigator Award (2014), and multiple early-career accolades.
Teaching activities involve PhD supervision and organizing the Clinical Genomics module for the MSc Cell and Gene Therapy program.
