Daan Van Knippenberg

Daan Van Knippenberg is Professor of Organizational Behavior at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam, within the Department of Organisation and Personnel Management. He serves as Editor of Academy of Management Annals and is the Founding Editor of Organizational Psychology Review. His academic career spans numerous editorial roles including past Associate Editor positions at Academy of Management Journal, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Journal of Organizational Behavior.

Professor Van Knippenberg's research focuses on leadership, diversity, teams, and creativity. His work examines how leadership behaviors influence team processes and outcomes, with particular attention to the psychological mechanisms underlying these relationships. He has developed influential frameworks for understanding how diversity can either enhance or disrupt team performance depending on contextual factors and team mindsets. His research often bridges theory and practice, addressing real-world organizational challenges while advancing theoretical understanding.
