Daan Mulder is a part-time PhD candidate at Utrecht University's Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies (Faculty of Humanities), focusing on the literary style of the Neoplatonist Plotinus. His research is supported by an OIKOS/Anchoring Innovation grant. He concurrently teaches Classical Languages and serves as school dean at Gymnasium Haganum in The Hague (three days weekly).
Education: Research Master in Classics (Leiden University, 2018).
Research Interests: Late Antiquity, Ancient Philosophy, Neoplatonism, and the socio-intellectual contexts of ancient texts. His work bridges textual analysis with historical frameworks, emphasizing Plotinus' philosophical methodologies. He participates in the Institutions for Open Societies research theme.
Recent Activities: Presented Inside Plotinus' Classroom: Between Text and Topic (Invited Talk, May 2025) and Plotinus and his Gnostic Friends: A Re-examination (Poster/Presentation, Jan 2025).
