DAVID FACAL MAYO

David Facal Mayo is a University Professor affiliated with the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Santiago de Compostela, where he works within the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology and the Institute of Psychology (IPsiUS). His research focuses on aging, cognitive neuroscience, and psychogerontology.

He earned his doctorate in 2008 with the thesis The phenomenon of the tip of the tongue in old age. Influence of vocabulary, working memory and processing speed, supervised by Dr. Onesimo Juncos Rabadán and Dra. Maria Soledad Rodríguez González.

David is associated with the NeuCogA-Aging Research Group, which explores applied cognitive neuroscience and psychogerontology. His work bridges developmental psychology with educational frameworks to understand cognitive aging processes.
