Danijela Ilić is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, specializing in Music Theory and Pedagogy. She has held academic positions since 1995, initially as a Senior Lecturer and later advancing to her current rank. Her educational background includes a Ph.D. from the State Music Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, and specialized studies at the Faculty of EPTE in Rome.

Her research focuses on musical forms in classical and modern contexts, including studies on Beethoven, Ravel, and Serbian national music traditions. She has authored influential textbooks and monographs, such as The Music Forms of Expression (2002) and Serbian Suite and its Place in National and European Music Traditions (2008).
She founded the International Symposium of Composers, Musicologists, Ethnomusicologists, and Music Theoreticians in Sokobanja (2005), fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. Her work bridges music theory, historical analysis, and pedagogical innovation.
