Călborean Adrian

Dr. Călborean Adrian is a Principal Researcher (R4) at the National Institute for Research and Development of Isotopic and Molecular Technologies (INCDTIM) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where he works in the Materials, Energy and Advanced Technologies Department within the Quantum Engineering research team. His office is located in Building A, Room A3.06.

Dr. Călborean holds an MSc in Technological Physics (2004) and an MSc in Management (2018) from Babeș-Bolyai University, a PhD in Quantum Chemistry (2009) from Université Joseph Fourier in Grenoble, France, and completed postdoctoral work at École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Paris (2010) and Babeș-Bolyai University (2013).

His research interests span molecular electronics, quantum modeling, electrochemical analysis of batteries, nanotechnology, sensorics, and materials engineering. He specializes in PEIS analysis of lead-acid batteries, molecular electronics, nanolithography through DPN, surface analysis via AFM, and density functional theory applications. His work demonstrates strong integration between theoretical modeling and practical applications in energy storage systems.

Dr. Călborean has led and coordinated numerous high-impact R&D projects funded by national and European agencies since 2011, with each project exceeding €100,000 in funding. His research portfolio shows consistent focus on advancing battery technologies, quantum computing applications, and molecular-scale engineering solutions.

As a scientific reviewer and project manager, he has contributed significantly to Romania's research landscape through 16 years of professional experience.
