César Garza

César Garza is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) and a Faculty Teaching Fellow at UHD's Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE). With a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and postdoctoral experience at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), he joined UHD in 2017. Since 2018, he has specialized in implementing active learning techniques and growth mindset philosophies in STEM classrooms, particularly in mathematics courses ranging from freshman to senior levels.
