Cyrus Schleifer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Oklahoma’s Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences, serving as Graduate Liaison. He specializes in quantitative methods, sociology of religion, and longitudinal statistics. His research explores topics like clergy work, occupational inequality, and religious trends.
He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Duke University (2015). His work has been featured in top journals such as American Sociological Review and Journal of Sociological Methods, and has garnered media attention from Time Magazine, NPR, and Science Magazine.
Professor Schleifer coordinates the Advanced Quantitative Methods Working Group (ADQUANT) and advises the Dialogues of Contemporary Sociology Workshop (DOCS). In 2020, he received the Irene Rothbaum Award for Outstanding Assistant Professor, recognizing his excellence in teaching and research.
