Cyrus Beroukhim

Cyrus Beroukhim is an Associate Professor of String Studies at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. He joined NYU in 2013 and has held roles as concertmaster of the American Symphony Orchestra (2019) and principal positions with the New York City Ballet Orchestra. His performances, including collaborations with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields and Classical Jam, have been praised for technical brilliance and artistic sensitivity. Dr. Beroukhim is also a sought-after educator, having taught at SUNY Fredonia and Columbia University, and developed innovative methods for instrumental technique.

His performances have been broadcast internationally, including a memorial concert for Queen Farah’s son.

Achievements: His NPR Performance Today recognition as “crème de la crème” and critical acclaim from The New York Times and Chicago Tribune highlight his artistic impact. He has performed globally, from Switzerland to Israel, showcasing technical mastery in works by Bach, Vivaldi, and Saint-Saëns.

Advising & Mentorship: As a faculty member, Dr. Beroukhim guides students through music festivals worldwide, addressing technical challenges through accelerated learning methods. His ensembles, such as the Zukofsky Quartet, exemplify his commitment to advancing contemporary classical music.
