Cynthia T Walley is an Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling at Mercy University's School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. She serves as Department Chair and Program Director of the School Counseling Program.

Dr. Walley's research focuses on adolescent mental health, career readiness, and professional identity in counseling. Her work emphasizes evidence-based practices and interdisciplinary collaboration through initiatives like the IHELP Fellowship and HEART Project, which address behavioral health needs in underserved communities.
As a mentor, she supports students in overcoming challenges and achieving professional goals. She has secured significant grant funding for student scholarships and program innovation, while also consulting for the New York State Education Department on school counselor regulations and certification exams. Dr. Walley has held leadership roles in professional organizations, including President of the New York State School Counselor Association.
