Cynthia Fu is a Professor at the University of East London affiliated with the Childhood & Social Care research institute. Her research focuses on neuropsychiatry, computational approaches to mental health, and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques for mood disorders.
Her research examines: transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) applications for depression, machine learning-based stress detection systems, neuroanatomical biomarkers for treatment response, and computational neuroscience approaches to bipolar disorder.
Recent publications show strong focus on home-based neuromodulation therapies, computational psychiatry, physiological monitoring systems, and large-scale neuroimaging studies of mood disorders. Her work integrates clinical neuroscience with advanced computational methods.
Her research involves significant collaborations with international teams including the ENIGMA Major Depressive Disorder working group. Current projects investigate remote-supervised tDCS protocols and multimodal biomarkers for personalized depression treatment.
