- Peer Relationship Dynamics
- Emotional Regulation in Developmental Contexts
- Impact of Electronic Communication on Social Functioning
Her research explores how peer acceptance, friendship quality, and social-cognitive processes (e.g., attributions, goals, self-efficacy) influence loneliness, depression, and social anxiety in youth. She investigates differences across gender and developmental stages, including responses to social failure and peer victimization support strategies.
Her lab's work spans preschoolers' theories of social competence, adolescents' coping mechanisms, and emerging studies on digital communication's effects on adjustment. Publications highlight clinical applications in nonsuicidal self-injury, family conflict mediation, and assessment tools for social skills.
Current projects focus on peer pressure susceptibility, negative feedback seeking in adolescents, and technology's evolving role in social development.
