Cristopher A. Young is a Professor of Practice at Auburn University, affiliated with the College of Veterinary Medicine. He also holds an Adjunct Professor appointment at the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Pathology. With dual credentials as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and a Master of Public Health (MPH), he specializes in regulatory veterinary medicine, epidemiological investigations, and One Health initiatives.

His research focuses on disease surveillance, transboundary animal diseases, and livestock production systems. His career spans USDA APHIS leadership, state veterinary roles, and private practice, with significant military service as a U.S. Army Reserve officer.
Scientific achievements include the APHIS Supervisor of the Year award (2017) and the Order of Military Medical Merit (2008). Current projects involve developing military working dog virtual reality training modules through Auburn University's Detection Canine Science and Innovation Technology and Education Center (DCSITE).
