Cristino Pacquing is a Lecturer with expertise in early modern French literature and the intersection of medicine, gender, and science. His research focuses on the politics and poetics of the body in medical discourse and combines literary studies with history of science, gender studies, and book history.
Education: B.A. in French from New York University, M.S.Ed. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from City College of New York, and M.A. in Modern Letters from Université Lumière Lyon 2. Prior to Yale, he taught English at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon and in NYC high schools.
His work emphasizes inclusive pedagogy and the emancipatory role of education. Research interests include the construction of medical knowledge, authority in texts, and articulations of gender/sexuality with science in early modern France.
