Cristina Valega Chipoco

Cristina Valega Chipoco holds dual roles as a Lecturer in the B.A. Programme 'Gender and Diversity' at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and a Doctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law. Her academic work focuses on gender, sexualities, and law, with particular emphasis on consent in sexual offenses, gender-based violence, and international human rights law. She also engages in intersectionality studies, analyzing how gender intersects with other social categories.

• Education: Bachelor of Laws (2010–2016) from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP Law School).
• Research Projects: Includes studies on 'Stealthing' as sexual violence, constitutional gender order in Peruvian jurisprudence, and the criminalization of femicide. She has led or co-led projects examining non-consent in rape under Peruvian law.

Her professional experience includes roles as a Legal Advisor at the Peruvian Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, a Research Consultant for UNDP, and an Academic Visitor at the University of Oxford’s Centre for Socio-Legal Studies. She has also contributed to policy initiatives, such as Peru’s National Strategy on Preventing Gender-Based Violence.
