Cristina Sá

Cristina Sá is an Assistant Professor at the School of Arts, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and a researcher at the Research Center for Science and Technology of the Arts (CITAR). With an h-index of 18, her work bridges technology, theater, and mental health.

• PhD holder with expertise in digital art preservation and audience reception studies.

Research Interests: Digital art curation, media art history, interactive theater, climate change communication, gaming studies, and mental health in educational contexts. Her projects include DTx: Digital Transformation CoLab (2021–2025) and HAC4CG: Heritage Art, Creation for Climate Change (2021–2023).

Recent Publications: Focus on media art preservation (Artnodes, 2025), gaming futures (Journal of Science and Technology of the Arts, 2023), and pandemic impacts on student wellbeing (PLoS One, 2023).

Academic Leadership: Organized conferences on performing arts and interactivity (2023), served as chair for Fundación "la Caixa" evaluation committees, and reviewed for journals like Leonardo. Collaborates internationally on projects like the Media Art Histories (MAH) Re:Source conference.
