Cristina Soriano

Cristina Soriano is an Associate Professor in the Department of History, College of Liberal Arts, at The University of Texas at Austin. She earned her Ph.D. in Latin American History from New York University in 2011.

Dr. Soriano specializes in Colonial Latin America, the Atlantic World, and the Caribbean, with research emphasizing race, rebellion, and revolution in historical contexts. Her scholarship bridges regional studies with transnational frameworks, examining power dynamics and cultural exchanges across colonial empires.
